DIGITAL CONTACT CARD

Transform your networking by programming your NFC tag to instantly share your complete contact information with a single tap.

TL;DR: Open NFC Tools, tap Write, select Add a record, choose vCard, fill in your contact details, tap Write, then hold your NFC tag to your phone until the write is complete.

AT a Glance
Time: 8-10 minutes
Difficulty: Easy
You'll Need: NFC-enabled phone, NFC Tools app, your contact information
Steps.
  1. Open NFC Tools app
  2. Create a vCard record
  3. Enter your contact details
  4. Write to your NFC tag
Open NFC Tools and Navigate to Write

Launch the NFC Tools app on your phone. On the main screen, tap the Write tab at the bottom. This will take you to the writing interface where you can create records to store on your NFC tag.

Select vCard Record Type

Tap Add a record, then scroll down to find and select Contact (vCard). This is a universal format that works with both iPhone and Android devices for sharing contact information.

Fill in Your Contact Information

Enter your details including name, phone number, email, company, job title, and website. You can add as much or as little information as you want. The more complete your vCard, the easier it is for people to save and contact you.

Write to Your NFC Tag

Once your vCard is complete, tap Write at the bottom of the screen. Hold your NFC tag steady against the back of your phone (near the NFC antenna area). Keep it in place until you see a confirmation message that the write was successful.

Troubleshooting

Write Failed or Tag Not Detected
  • Make sure your phone's NFC is enabled in Settings
  • Try different positions on the back of your phone - NFC antennas are in different spots on different models
  • Remove any thick phone cases that might block the signal
Contact Card Shows Incorrectly
  • Double-check that all fields are filled in correctly with no typos
  • Some special characters may not display properly - stick to standard letters and numbers
  • Make sure phone numbers include country codes for international compatibility
Tag Works on My Phone but Not Others
  • Some phones require the screen to be unlocked to read NFC tags
  • Very old phones (pre-2016) may not have NFC capability
  • Make sure the vCard was written correctly - try reading it with your phone first

F.A.Q.

Can I update my contact information later?

Yes! As long as you haven't locked the tag, you can rewrite it anytime with updated information using the same steps.

What happens when someone taps my card?

Their phone will automatically open a contact card with all your information, which they can save directly to their contacts with one tap.

Do I need to include all contact fields?

No. You can choose which information to share. Many people just include name, phone, and email for simplicity.
