SHARE MUSIC OR MEDIA

Program your NFC tag to instantly open your favorite song, playlist, or podcast on Spotify with a single tap.

TL;DR: Copy your Spotify share link, open NFC Tools, add a URL record, paste the link, write to your tag, and you're done. Anyone who taps it will open that content in Spotify.

Troubleshooting

Link Opens But Nothing Plays
  • Make sure Spotify is installed on the phone scanning the tag
  • Check that the content is still available on Spotify
  • Try opening the link manually in a browser first to verify it works
Tag Opens Wrong App or Website
  • Make sure you copied the complete Spotify link, not a shortened version
  • Some phones may prompt which app to open - select Spotify and choose 'Always'
  • Verify the link is correct by reading the tag in NFC Tools before writing
Content Opens in Browser Instead of App
  • This happens if Spotify isn't set as the default for spotify.com links
  • When prompted, select 'Open in Spotify' and choose 'Remember my choice'
  • You can also set default apps in your phone's Settings under Apps or Default Apps

F.A.Q.

Does this work with Apple Music or YouTube?

Yes! The same process works with any streaming service. Just copy the share link from Apple Music, YouTube Music, or any other platform.

Do they need Spotify installed to play it?

Yes. The link opens in Spotify, so they'll need the app installed. Free accounts can still listen, though some content may have ads.

Can I share multiple songs on one tag?

Not directly. Each tag opens one link. However, you can create a Spotify playlist with multiple songs and share the playlist link instead.

Will this work if the song is removed from Spotify?

No. If Spotify removes the content, the link will no longer work. The tag will still have the link, but it won't open anything.
