SHARE MUSIC OR MEDIA
TL;DR: Copy your Spotify share link, open NFC Tools, add a URL record, paste the link, write to your tag, and you're done. Anyone who taps it will open that content in Spotify.
AT a Glance
- Get your Spotify share link
- Open NFC Tools and add URL
- Write to your NFC tag
Open Spotify and find the song, album, playlist, or podcast you want to share. Tap the three dots menu, then select Share. Choose Copy Link to copy the Spotify URL to your clipboard. This link will work on both iPhone and Android devices.
Open the NFC Tools app and tap the Write tab. Tap Add a record, then select URL/URI from the list. Paste your Spotify link into the URL field. The app may automatically detect it's a Spotify link.
Tap Write at the bottom of the screen. Hold your NFC tag against the back of your phone until you see a confirmation that the write was successful. Now anyone who taps this tag will be taken directly to your Spotify content!

Troubleshooting
Link Opens But Nothing Plays
- Make sure Spotify is installed on the phone scanning the tag
- Check that the content is still available on Spotify
- Try opening the link manually in a browser first to verify it works
Tag Opens Wrong App or Website
- Make sure you copied the complete Spotify link, not a shortened version
- Some phones may prompt which app to open - select Spotify and choose 'Always'
- Verify the link is correct by reading the tag in NFC Tools before writing
Content Opens in Browser Instead of App
- This happens if Spotify isn't set as the default for spotify.com links
- When prompted, select 'Open in Spotify' and choose 'Remember my choice'
- You can also set default apps in your phone's Settings under Apps or Default Apps
F.A.Q.
Yes! The same process works with any streaming service. Just copy the share link from Apple Music, YouTube Music, or any other platform.
Yes. The link opens in Spotify, so they'll need the app installed. Free accounts can still listen, though some content may have ads.
Not directly. Each tag opens one link. However, you can create a Spotify playlist with multiple songs and share the playlist link instead.
No. If Spotify removes the content, the link will no longer work. The tag will still have the link, but it won't open anything.
